SafariTip is a cashless digital tipping platform designed for African safari lodges, tour operators, and hospitality businesses. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our platform as a guest, staff member, or business operator.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what is necessary to process tips and operate the platform:

• Guests: Name (optional), tip amount, currency, and message. We do not store card details - payments are processed by our licensed payment provider.
• Staff: Name, role, team assignment, and photo as provided by the business operator.
• Business operators: Business name, contact details, bank account information for settlements, and staff rosters.
• Usage data: Basic analytics such as page views and device type to improve the platform experience.

3. How we use your information

• Process and settle tips to the correct recipients
• Display staff profiles to guests during the tipping flow
• Generate settlement reports for business operators
• Send transaction confirmations and receipts
• Improve platform performance and user experience
• Comply with legal and regulatory requirements

4. Payment processing

All payments are processed through a licensed and regulated payment service provider. Card details are handled entirely by the payment provider and are never stored on SafariTip servers. All transactions are PCI DSS compliant with bank-grade encryption.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Our payment processing provider (to complete transactions)
• The business operator whose staff you are tipping (tip details and optional guest name/message)
• Law enforcement or regulators when required by applicable law

6. Data protection

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. We comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) in South Africa and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. Business operators can manage staff data directly through the admin dashboard. For all other requests, contact us at the address below.

We use essential cookies and session storage to maintain your tipping session. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
