Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By accessing or using SafariTip, you agree to these Terms of Service. SafariTip provides a cashless digital tipping platform for hospitality businesses and their guests. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the platform.

2. Platform description

SafariTip enables guests to tip hospitality staff electronically by scanning a QR code and paying by card. Tips are collected by our licensed payment provider and settled to the business operator's designated bank account. The business operator is responsible for distributing tips to staff.

3. User types

  • Guests use the platform to leave tips for staff. No account is required.
  • Business operators register an account to manage staff, generate QR codes, and receive settlements.
  • Staff members are added to the platform by their business operator and receive tips through the business settlement process.

4. Payments and fees

  • A service fee is presented to the guest at checkout. The fee percentage is disclosed before payment.
  • 100% of the tip amount goes to the business for distribution to staff. The service fee covers payment processing and platform costs.
  • Business operators pay a monthly subscription fee based on their chosen plan. Plan details and pricing are available on the SafariTip website.
  • All payments are processed by a licensed and regulated payment service provider. SafariTip does not store card details.

5. Settlements

Tips are settled to the business operator's bank account on a schedule determined by their plan (monthly or weekly). Settlement reports are available through the admin dashboard. SafariTip is not responsible for how the business operator distributes tips to individual staff members.

6. Refunds

Tips are voluntary and generally non-refundable. If a guest believes a tip was processed in error, they may contact us at the address below. Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and must be made within 14 days of the transaction.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the platform, including but not limited to: using stolen payment methods, attempting to manipulate tip amounts or settlements, impersonating staff or businesses, or using the platform for money laundering or other illegal purposes.

8. Intellectual property

The SafariTip name, logo, and platform design are the property of SafariTip. Business operators retain ownership of their own branding, staff data, and business information uploaded to the platform.

9. Limitation of liability

SafariTip provides the platform on an "as is" basis. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability is limited to the fees paid by the business operator in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

Business operators may cancel their subscription at any time through the admin dashboard. We may suspend or terminate access to the platform if these terms are violated. Outstanding settlements will be processed before account closure.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to business operators via email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of South Africa.
